Do you know why does temple have bells?

We all go to temple to worship our deities but do you know the reason for the presence of bells in the temples. Why do we ring bells before entering temples or while conducting pooja. Though the sound of the God, is pleasant to the God, it also creates a vibration that helps to balance the activites of our left and right brain. So, here are few reasons to suit your rational:

* According to Agama Sastra, the bell is used to give sound for keeping evil forces away and the ring of the bell is pleasant to God.

* Another reason for ringing bells in the temple is to keep our mind focussed on devotional purpose and also to keep negative thoughts away from mind.

* Also when the echo sound from ringing the bell is created, it activates the healing points in our body, thus making us more active and concentrated.
